How to Grill Tuna Steak

A steak is a special cut of meat, poultry or seafood that is usually served barbecued or grilled. One of the most popular steaks is the tuna steak. Preparing Tuna Steak

To prepare the steak, you should have seasonings to improve the natural flavor of the seafood. For a six ounce of steak, it is best to have two tablespoons lemon juice and two tablespoons olive oil for the marinade. You also need ½ teaspoon salt as well as ½ teaspoon pepper. Another ingredient for the marinade is ¼ cup soy sauce.

Wash the steak in tap water. Pat dry with paper towel to remove water. Mix the lemon juice, soy sauce and olive oil. Stir in the pepper and salt. Transfer the mixture in a resealable bag. Place the steak in the bag and shake the bag. Make sure that the steak is covered with the marinade. Put the bag inside the refrigerator for half day to a day.

Grilling Tuna Steak

After marinating the meat, remove the steak from the bag and place on a clean plate. Do not discard the marinade, instead place the mixture on a skillet. Heat skillet over medium fire for 30 seconds. Put the steak on the skillet and brown each side. Afterwards, preheat the grill. Use tongs to transfer the steak on the grill. Make sure that the meat is placed on direct heat. The ingredients that you need include four tuna steaks, ¼ cup olive oil, two teaspoons basil, three tablespoons white vinegar, two teaspoons oregano, a teaspoon of minced garlic and two teaspoons mixed thyme, pepper and salt.

Mix all the ingredients except for the steaks in a large bowl. Add the steaks and marinate for 30 minutes to an hour. If you have long preparation time, it is best to marinate the meat for four hours. Preheat the grill and place the steaks on the grill. Baste the fish with the marinade. Grill each steak for 10 minutes, five minutes on each side.
